The Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress known as the Memphis Belle became one of the most celebrated American bombers of the Second World War, representing the determination and endurance of the crews who flew dangerous missions over occupied Europe.

Assigned to the US Eighth Air Force's 91st Bomb Group at RAF Bassingbourn in England, the Memphis Belle completed its 25-mission combat tour on 17 May 1943. The aircraft and its crew subsequently returned to the United States for a publicity tour, helping bring the experiences of the air war to the American public. Its story became an enduring part of the history of daylight strategic bombing during the Second World War.

Aftercare

How to wash:

Turn your t-shirt inside out— this avoids scratches and friction and keeps the printed area safe.
Wash with cold water—opt for temperatures at or below 30°C (86°F) to prevent it from fading or shrinking.
Delicate cycle.
Soft detergent—harsh detergents can cause the ink to fade or discolour.
Avoid fabric softener and dry cleaning— it can be too harsh for the ink, degrading the print quality.
Avoid bleach!

How to dry:

Keep the t-shirt inside out.
The best option is to hang dry.
Tumble-dry with caution, on a low heat. Over time, the higher temperatures can dry out the ink, causing it to crack.

Damaged, misprinted or wrong item?
Email me as soon as you can, ideally within 14 days of delivery, with your order number and a couple of photos. I'll replace it or refund you, and I'll cover return postage if I ask for the item back. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.
